The Indian government is cracking down on selfie-stick sales

A bill introduced by the Indian government has made it illegal to sell selfie sticks and other devices that use digital cameras or cameras with low resolution.

The new law will ban sale of the devices for more than six months from January 1, 2019.

The bill will also require retailers to provide customers with written information about their devices’ capabilities and limits.

The ban comes at a time when India is battling the spread of cases of microcephaly, a condition caused by a rare genetic condition.
