TwoFourTwo is Melbourne’s most popular local tattoo parlour, but the owner says he can’t keep his hands off the big business.
As of last week, it had more than 600 people in its gallery, and it’s growing.
Tanners from around the world come to Melbourne to see its tattoo parlor for their favourite styles and colours, but some prefer the more traditional tattoos, including sun & tail.
“You can see that it’s not just a business of making money.
It’s about having a sense of humour and having fun with it,” Mr Jepson said.”
There’s a lot of tattoos that are more traditional, more western, more feminine and more masculine, and we wanted to make it look like that.”
Mr Jepsson says there’s also a strong tattoo culture in the city, and that his shop has been able to keep its patrons happy by offering free tattoos, and by having a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
“We’re really into it, we’re really passionate about it, and as we see that tattooing is really popular in Melbourne, we want to offer it to people,” he said.

“It’s definitely a great business to be in,” Mr Langer said.
While many tattoo parls in Melbourne don’t offer tattoos as an option, there are a few that do offer them, and they’re all around the same price.
“For a lot, the best price we can get is in a $100 tattoo, but that’s not necessarily the case,” Mr Stokes said.
For the most part, tattoo parlers in Melbourne are on their own to decide what to do with their clients’ money, so it’s important to know where to go to find the best rates.
“I think it’s really important to find a place that’s going to cater to your preferences,” Mr O’Keefe said.
