A man with a mane of light and dark hair was spotted in New York City in the early hours of Wednesday morning, and it wasn’t just anyone.
He was the only person in the area who had a sun tan and it was so unusual, that NYPD tweeted out that it was a “mood disorder.”
The man, who has been identified as James “Jim” Hester, told reporters that he and his family were in the sun-drenched area at the time, and that they were having a hard time walking down the street because of the lack of traffic.
He told reporters he didn’t want to wear a tan because it would make him look like he was “going crazy.”
Hester was spotted at around 1:15 a.m. on West 12th Street near the corner of Lexington Avenue and Third Avenue, and he told reporters later that he had spent the night in the shade.
He said he wanted to go for a walk with his wife but wasn’t sure if the weather was going to cooperate.
“It was the best thing I could have done,” he said.
“I was looking at it like, ‘I don’t know what I’m going to do, so I’m not going to try.’
It was the perfect time to get out.”
